Gabe was a chess protege from Poughkeepsie, his parents were rotational working fish breeders who never understood his passion for the great game. Steve was an inventory management specialist for a Fortune 500 before forced retirement turned him to a life of crime as an antique furniture thief. Now they’re both scouring Adelaide, Texas for Coney(Owen Wilson), a lost five pound Jack Russell terrier, old Mr Bartholomew’s (Bill Murray) sole heir and only reminder of his late mother. The reward money is all that Gabe needs to pay his way to the intercontinental Chess Masters tournament in Spokane, and all Steve needs to pay off an angry bookie after a gator racing bet went south. If all this sounds like it could be the plot to a Wes Anderson movie? Hey! That’s great! Because we’re talking about him for the next hour or so.

On this week's episode - Gabe and Steve bring you on a musical journey through movies that rock! Not musicals per se, but movies about Rock n Roll. Join us as we stomp or feet and bang our heads to classics and not-so- classics. If enough people listen, we could be almost famous.

Who We Are...
Originally formed in 2012 - 4 Canadians, veterans of the Jury Room forums at DVDVerdict.com (RIP) banded together to add their voices to the white noise generator known as the internet.
For almost three years, they would deep dive into an individual Director's body of work and provide their collective thoughts for cinephiles everywhere. Some day those episodes may return...
Well, Steve and Gabe got bored, so...
WE'RE BACK!
Rather than start fresh, we figured, why not start with the nostalgia fuelled reboot!? Though the cast may have aged, they're still the same, nonsense-spewing Canuckleheads.

Steve Power
Steve was born in the late '70s on a small rock in the North Atlantic. He spent his formative years on the hard streets of a suburb of St. John's, Newfoundland, where the busses didn't run until 1989.
With nothing else to do during the cold Northern Winters, Steve discovered a love of film. While he's well versed in arthouse filmmakers, his happy place lies in the larger-than-life silver age, the mainstream blockbusters of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, mainstream, any sort of science fiction, and pretty well anything with a sword in it. Just don't mention Marvel movies.
Favorite filmmakers; Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Michael Mann, Mamoru Oshii, Denis Villeneuve, Christopher Nolan, David Lean, Edward Zwick.
Steve is a Graphic Designer by trade but now works for the Canadian Government. He's a published author (one short story), loves reading, heavy metal, rock n' roll, film and video game music, cars, airplanes, and tabletop and video gaming.
He currently lives in Newfoundland, Canada with his equally geeky soulmate, an army of children, a cat, and a rabbit.

Gabriel Velez-Girard
Gabe was born in the early '80s in Montreal. A movie lover from a young age, he became a fully-fledged cinephile in his late teens. He is also a voracious reader and eclectic music lover. He enjoys all movie genres with a special interest in horror films, German films, and anything that is different.Amongst his favorite filmmakers we find: Stanley Kubrick, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Spike Lee, David Cronenberg and Steven Soderbergh. In 2014 Gabe found love with a Bodega girl from Jersey City and bailed on his native Canada for Northern New Jersey.
In his day-to-day life, Gabe is a barista, assistant manager, and father to three wonderful cats.
